This past month Brooks and I did in vitro. We have been trying to get pregnant for almost 5 years and have been through various infertility doctors and treatments. After 2 miscarriages two years ago and surgery for endometriosis in April, we are finally pregnant. We did the egg retrieval on September 4, 2007 and the transfer on Sept. 7, 2007. On Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 we went down to Tucson to have my blood drawn. That afternoon Dr. Gelety called with the good news. Brooks and I were so excited! Dr. Gelety said my levels were very strong, and I am optimistic about everything. I am on daily injections of progesterone which Brooks gives to me. We definitely had to jump through quite a few hoops to get to this point, but we are thrilled as can be.One thing that has really surprised me is the amount of support we have received. It is overwhelming to hear people tell you that they pray for you everyday. People have prayed for us, fasted for us and attended the temple while thinking of us. I have never felt so much love and concern for me coming from so many people. Even children who barely know us are praying for "the Crandell's to have a baby." My visiting teacher, Lynn Kimpel, tells me every time she comes that her and her husband pray for us every night. She is only one of many, and it is humbling to realize how much concern people have for us.Last night I went to an enrichment where they talked about how to create blogs. I decided it sounded easy enough and decided to give it a try.
