Trip to Cabela's

After we got back to Spokane, Brooks still had a couple days off before heading back to school. We decided to head over to Cabela's and see the animal displays. Landon and Elliot loved it! They pointed out all the animals they knew and wanted to walk around to see everything a couple times.

Growing Like Weeds

The last day we were in Arizona, we walked over to a field of weeds right behind my mom's house and took a few pictures of the boys. Earlier in the day Landon had fallen down the steps out front and landed on his forehead. His forehead was bleeding pretty badly and under his nose was scraped up. When he first fell, we thought we might be taking our first trip to the ER. Luckily he was fine, but was left with some nice war wounds. They are edited out of most of these pictures though.

While we were taking pictures here, the cows started mooing and of course the boys no longer wanted to look at the camera. I love the progression of the first three shots showing their interest in the cows.

Elliot was sitting on this bench, but didn't want to look up. Amerae started asking him, "Where are your eyes/ears/head/knees?" This worked great because it made him look up and smile.

This picture isn't the greatest, but it does show Landon's wounds without the editing. Ouch!

Flat Iron

Brooks and I were able to hike Flat Iron while Landon and Elliot hung out at with Grandma and Grandpa, Tannis and Mason. We have hiked this before but never at this time of day. The sun was setting just as we were finishing up the hike and it was perfect.

Flat Iron is the ledge in the middle of the picture. It is a long way up!

This picture is one of those "in the right place at the right time" kind of things. We love this picture!

More Arizona Pics

I know I have already posted a million pictures from our trip, but here are a few more. All the kids helped Nana take down the Christmas tree by climbing all over the ladder. Luckily, no one was seriously injured.

Dallin celebrated a birthday while in AZ and of course, there was a party to celebrate. He was very excited about his party, especially the opening presents part. Landon and Elliot's favorite part was the birthday cake.

What could be more exciting to little boys than sticks? These created great entertainment for a while.

Landon recently started sticking out his tongue all the time, especially when he is focusing on something.

San Tan Hike

The last time we tried hiking with the boys, they hated being in the back pack. We thought things may have changed, but this time was no different. Luckily this wasn't too long of a hike and they were able to walk part of it and be carried the rest. We hiked in the San Tan mountains with my family and all the kids did as well as can be expected.

We ended the hike at the top of ridge with a good view. Here is everyone who went.

The kids got bored by the end so we had to come up with new ways to carry them and keep them interested.

Phoenix Zoo

We took a trip to the zoo with my family and the boys loved it! During past trips to the zoo they seemed less than interested, and so it was fun to see them so intrigued by the animals. They did all the animal sounds they knew and stared long and hard at everything. Their favorite was probably the elephant and mine was the orangutans.

At lunch, Landon discovered how exciting it is to throw bread to the ducks. He cracked up after throwing each piece.
