I Like to Move It

Landon couldn't sit still when we told him it was Aunt Tannis' 16th birthday. He was so excited! Happy Birthday Tannis!
This video typifies why Landon is not able to sit up very well yet. He can not sit still or stay in the same position for long. I set him down, walk in the other room, and when I come back he is 5 feet away from where I left him. He has two basic methods of moving: rolling and pushing off with his feet while laying on his back.

Pumpkin Carving...Or Not

Every year one of our neighbors has a pumpkin carving party at their house. You bring your pumpkins and carving tools and she has patterns to use. There was yummy food too. We brought our pumpkin to carve, but only got as far as drawing the pattern on the pumpkin. Surprise, surprise...with two boys it was tricky to actually get any carving done. We did get to meet some new people and watch everyone else carve pumpkins. The neighbor who invited us is sooooo nice. It seems like every time Cole gets out, she is the one to find him. He runs away from us, but will go right to her. She still invited us to her party, so I guess she's not too upset about it. Maybe I'll post a picture of the finished product when...or if it gets done.

Elliot has been doing so well sitting up! He will reach for toys and can catch himself if he starts to tip. There is a tipping point of no return for him, but overall he does great. Landon, on the other hand, won't sit still long enough to sit up for very long. He wants to move!

Sleepy Head

When Elliot woke up from his nap, he had these weird marks on his forehead. It took me a minute to figure out, but then realized he must have been laying on his hands while he was sleeping on his tummy. They stayed red for quite a while after he woke up.

Riverside Hike

Brooks and I decided to finally use the hiking backpacks I had bought at the twin garage sale. We headed out to Riverside Park as a family and found an easy trail just past the bridge. The boys love being outside and this was great for them. Every time we would talk to them on the hike, they would smile from ear to ear.

Part of the trail follows alongside the river, which was beautiful! We saw a couple of people kayaking in the river. Brrr!

Brooks found a snake skin on our hike!

Halloween Party at the Park

What cute little puppies!
A few of the law school moms got together at Riverfront park for a Halloween party for the kids. There were goodies to share, a craft for the bigger kids and a couple of games. We had a couple of ladybugs, a butterfly, a knight, a dragon and a two puppies attend the party. Nothing too crazy, but it was fun to get out of the house and visit with the other moms. Plus, the boys got to wear their costumes, which luckily still fit. Notice how I am the only one, a girl from a AZ, not wearing a sweater or jacket.

Front & back views =)

Cute Bums

Landon & Elliot both sleep in this same position. Every time I go to check on them, they are sleeping like this...bum in the air. How can that possibly be comfortable?

Family Drive

Brooks had no school on Monday for Founder's Day. Not sure what it is, but it was good to have him home. After he did a little studying in the morning, we went for a drive as a family in the afternoon. We drove towards Montana up through the mountains and ended up in a town called Kellogg which is home to Silver Mountain, a ski resort. The drive was beautiful and the town was fun to drive around. There is a gondola that takes you up into the mountains to do your skiing, boarding, biking or whatever. Brooks is looking forward to snowboarding season even though he won't be able to go as often as he would like.
Fall is here and the mountains were full of color.
Look at the color of that tree!

This is where you take the gondola up. There is tourist type shops and resorts in the town. They even have an indoor water park.

Family Pictures

About a week ago, I was asking around trying to find someone to take family pictures for us. Samantha volunteered her husband Jeremiah to take them for us and said he really enjoys taking pictures. I was expecting to get down to the park on Sunday, take a few snapshots, and hopefully get a picture we could use for Christmas cards. Jeremiah went above and beyond that expectation. Ten locations and 300 pictures later, we were done. I am so pleased with how they turned out! We made dinner for them to pay them back, but I think I should have actually paid him for his work. It was amazing! Thanks to Jeremiah for the great pictures and to Samantha for dragging our stuff all over the park for us! We had a great time! I know I posted a ton of pictures, but I couldn't pick just a few.

Landon hated the leaves from the second we set him down!

I LOVE this shot!

The following three shots are a few that Brooks took while we were at the park. We are really enjoying fall!
