Dinner at the Falls

We got a babysitter for all the boys and had a date night with Sterling and Taryn. I got a great restaurant recommendation from a friend to try a place called Anthony's. It is a nice seafood and steak restaurant that looks out over the Spokane Falls. The weather was perfect, the food was great and we had an amazing view. We sat on the deck and were able to look out at the falls during dinner. It was a Spokane dinner at its best. The picture below was taken looking at the restaurant from across the river.



Afterwards, we walked around and saw all the waterfalls. The last time Brooks and I had been to the falls was last summer and they look so different now. There is tons more water in the spring.









We also walked around Riverfront Park and just enjoyed showing Sterling and Taryn around. Thanks to Sterling and Taryn for a great evening!

Riverside Hike

While Sterling and Taryn were here, we went to Riverside Park for a family hike. The mosquitoes were out in full force which was annoying, but we still had a great time.






We attempted to get a shot of all three boys together, but they quickly were up and moving away bigger and better things. Elliot was the only one who stayed put.









We had all three car seats on one row. I loved looking over my shoulder to see three cute boys staring at me.

Visitors

Sterling, Taryn & Ian came to visit May 22-25. We got out of the house and did some exploring while they were here. It was a little crazy with three small boys, but we had fun. The first evening, we went to the park in Coeur d'Alene and had a barbeque. Unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures other than this one of the boys in the car as we were leaving.  The park was great and the company even better. 

1 Year

A few days after Landon and Elliot's birthday, I convinced Brooks to go with me to get their pictures taken. I don't think he knew what he was in for. Landon was not having it from the beginning of the photo session and let us know he was not happy. We got a couple of good pictures, but nothing too great considering their age and level of interest in staying in one place for a picture.

I also took them in for their one year check-up with the doctor. Here are there stats:

Landon

Weight: 20 lb. 9 oz. - 20%

Elliot

They are two active little one year old boys who love to explore. They do not stay in one place for long. They both loving pushing cars all over the house and they both love to throw and catch the ball, especially with Daddy. Play time usually consists of me trying to keep track of who had which toy first and trying to maintain some level of peace. There are a few particular toys I wish we had two of. Their favorite item to play with is the house phone and when I take it away, we have major drama. Both boys are already delving into the world of tantrums and protest loudly when I take something away that they want. They love being outside and finding rocks, leaves and random items in nature to play with and eat. Often while playing together, they look at each other and start giggling. As a mom, it is so enjoyable to watch them grow as friends. They are getting better at waving and clapping, although they definitely don't do it on demand. Today while I was leading the music in Sacrament meeting, I looked down and saw both boys sitting on Brooks lap watching me. They were both waving their arms. I almost started laughing in the middle of the song.

We are at the winding down stages of nursing and have moved on to the wonderful world of sippy cups. This is bittersweet for me. I love the freedom of not nursing and am thrilled to be done with pumping and nipple shields. However, I will miss the closeness that comes from nursing a baby. Elliot hasn't nursed for a few days now and Landon still nurses 1-2 times a day. He is a little more attached.

The number one comment I get from people in public is, "It looks like you've got your hands full."

I do have my hands full, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

Chuck E. Cheese

Our friends invited us to a birthday party for their son at Chuck E Cheese. It was our first time going and Elliot and Landon liked it. Landon was inturgued by the fake dancing Chuck E and all the lights. We even got to meet Chuck E. Cheese himself. Can you tell from the pics the boys were super excited? Haha

Chuck E. Cheese came out for a while and did some dancing with the kids. Even Elliot was joining in.

Elliot and Landon both rode on a ride with Aspen, our friends little girl. They weren't sure what to think of the rides.

Triple Play

Last week we went to Triple play in Hayden, ID. It is a family fun park with a water park, go-carts, goofy golf, bumper boats and bowling. They have a family night package deal on Mondays. Landon usually doesn't like big community pools like this, but he did pretty well this time. We had fun on the water slides and hanging out with friends.

This was my first time on go-carts and I happened to pick the slow one. I got lapped twice by some people.

At first, Landon, Elliot and I were watching everyone else on the bumper boats, but then we all joined in on the action. Landon liked it, but Elliot seemed concerned the whole time we in the bumper boat.

Turn Around

Landon and Elliot are now in forward facing carseats. They like it better and I do too.

Happy Birthday Boys!

We had a birthday party for the boys last weekend. They ate pizza for the first time and each had their own cake to dive into. They both loved the cake and made a huge mess with the frosting. We had a few friends come to celebrate with us and Jeremiah took a bunch of pictures of the boys opening gifts and enjoying their cake. Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

These are the cakes I made for Landon and Elliot. It was my first attempt at cake decorating and I think they turned out okay. They took a while to put together and not very long for the boys to destroy.
