Brooks' family planned a trip to the Grand Canyon for a hike and we were able to go. I was a little nervous about hiking in and out in one day, but we were with others who had done it multiple times. It was about 17 miles total and my body started to slow down the last 3 miles or so. The last 3 miles are switchbacks out of the canyon and we were all moving at snail speed. It was one of the hardest things i have ever done, but it was very cool. This was my first time hiking to the bottom of the canyon. Brooks' grandpa came with us and he kept up and almost beat me out. We were all impressed!

September 2011
September brought slightly cooler temperatures so we enjoyed getting out side to play as long as the mosquitoes weren't out. My parents basketball court is awesome for the boys to run around and push their cars.
Words can not describe how much I love this picture!
Landon had a rough patch with separation anxiety for a while. This is him calling me to tell me goodbye after I left one afternoon. What a sad little face!
Claire's Birthday Party
My cousin's little girl, Claire, turned two and they had an amazing birthday party for her. It was complete with pony rides and a petting zoo. The kids were in heaven of course.
Birthday Girl
AZ Museum for Youth
Taryn invited to the museum with her for a free night and we had a blast. This room with the blocks was their favorite part.
The majority of the time, the boys were going crazy with these blocks. At one point some older boys came in and started to build this castle. It was funny to watch the younger boys settle down and take the lead of the older boys. They took direction and carefully tried to help out.
And of course, the cooler weather meant more frequent trips to the tire swing.
