Amity & Kaleya

Sometimes Sherrine calls me and asks me to watch the kids during the middle of the day while she goes to an appointment. I don't get to see Dayton or Kresenya, but I have fun hanging out with Amity and Kaleya. Amity is really in to puzzles lately and wants to do one every time I come over. She needs lots of help, but she is getting better!

Last Fertility Appointment

We had our last appointment with Dr. Gelety on Nov. 16th. We have been driving to Tucson every two weeks for our ultrasounds since September and before that even more for all of my other preparations for in vitro. Brooks has been driving with me for all of the ultrasounds and any major procedures I had to get done. My mom and Heidi took turns going with me the other times. We had fun chatting on the way there and back. We would usually stop to have lunch while we were there as well. I enjoyed spending that time with them. It is good to be moving on to the next stage of my pregnancy. It does feel weird to be leaving this behind when it has been such a big part of our life. I asked for a picture with Dr. Gelety and Martha, but they said they are more photogenic with babies in the picture. I guess we will have to come down to Tucson to show off the twins when they come.

Ultrasound Pictures

This was our first untrasound done at six weeks (10/05/07). We were so excited to see two little flashes on the screen showing two heartbeats! This was a big milestone for us because we had never actually seen the heartbeat last time when we had a miscarriage. Brooks and I couldn't stop smiling!

Here are our twins at 8 weeks. Everything still looks good! Martha tries to explain what everything is on the screen, but it is easy to forget.

This ultrasound was done at 10 weeks. The heartbeats are still going strong. We have an appointment every two weeks and I get nervous every time, but everything still looks good.

The next three ultrasound pictures were taken on Nov. 16. Our twins are now 12 weeks old. You can see both babies in each picture, but one a little more clearly. The first picture is of Sac B.

This is Sac A. Dr. Gelety said the baby is crossing his/her legs as you can see at the top of the picture. His/her head is towards the bottom.

This was the first time we could actually see the shape of two babies. They were moving around like crazy on the screen. It was so neat to see! Every time we go in, they have changed so much. They are now about 2 and 1/2 inches long each. This was our last appointment with Dr. Gelety. We are excited that everything is moving along so well!

Steven Laurence

Steven Laurence Jacobson was born Sat., Nov 3, 2007. He looked a lot like Dallin when he was born. Steven Laurence is named after both his Grandpas. Brooks and I went to the hospital that evening to see Heidi, Mark and Steven. Dallin hung out at our house and my parents house for most of the time. He did get to go to the hospital to see his baby brother once, but ignored baby Steven for most of the time. It is crazy how many babies are joining the family!
