Canada Trip - Day 1

In August, Brooks and I were able to take our first trip without Landon and Elliot. My mom came and stayed with them while Brooks and I went hiking and camping in Canada. We left early Friday morning (Aug. 14) and spent most of the day driving. The drive up was beautiful, especially as we entered the national parks in Canada. Brooks borrowed my mom's camera and he enjoyed improving his photography skills on this trip. He took almost 2,000 pictures in 4 days and I can't blame him because we saw some amazing things that were worth documenting. On the way there, we stopped often to take short hikes and to take pictures of the amazing mountains, waterfalls, streams, rivers and wildlife. The first day we saw Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and then met up with Doug, Heather, Sam, Dawn, Pablo, Pumi, Katie and Slader at the hotel in Lake Louise. We got one good night's sleep before braving the unusually cold weather while camping the next few nights.

This was taken on one of our many stops along the way.

Once we arrived in Banff National Park, our first stop was Lake Louise. This was Brooks first time there and I enjoyed showing him around. When we got there, it was cold, rainy and cloudy and it was difficult to get a good picture. This lake is stunning!

After we saw Lake Louise, we drove to Moraine Lake. The drive up there was spectacular and around every bend was another towering snow-peaked mountain.
