One of the elders Brooks served his mission with, Josh Hawker, is from Spokane. When Brooks decided to come to Gonzaga, he got in contact with Josh's family and actually stayed at their house on a few of his pre-move trips up to Spokane. The night we moved in, the Hawker's and a few of their kids (now adults) came and helped unload the moving van and even unpacked some boxes for us. When I finally got to the house LATE that night, the kitchen was partially unpacked, the boys crib was set up with sheets, bumper pads and all, and my bed was even made. It felt so nice to have so much already done before I even set foot in the door! We were so grateful for their help and wanted to thank them by having them over for dinner. We had a BBQ with them for Labor Day. One of their sons, Eric, has 2 girls that loved playing with and singing to the boys.
